Brazil's Ministry of Education forms working group on teacher health

The Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC) has established a working group to address the working conditions and occupational health of teachers in early childhood education. Formalized through Ordinance No. 725, the initiative aims to gather and systematize scientific evidence to develop recommendations for improving public policies regarding ergonomics and occupational health.

The group will be led by the General Coordination of Federative Articulation of the Subsecretariat of the Integrated National Policy for Early Childhood. It includes a wide range of representatives from various educational councils, unions, and research associations, such as the National Council of Education (CNE) and the National Union of Municipal Education Directors (Undime).

The working group is scheduled to operate for 120 days, with the possibility of a single 30-day extension. Upon completion, the resulting recommendations will be presented to the Subsecretary of the Integrated National Policy for Early Childhood.
