Brazil's Prouni Announces 471,304 Scholarships in Second‑Semester First Call

The Ministry of Education released the first‑call results of the Programa Universidade para Todos (Prouni) for the second semester of 2026 on July 15. A total of 471,304 scholarships are available at private higher‑education institutions across Brazil, of which 219,725 are fully funded and 251,579 cover 50 % of tuition.

Pre‑selected candidates must verify the information submitted in their applications between July 15 and July 24 to secure the scholarship. The second‑call results are scheduled for August 5, followed by a waiting‑list expression of interest on August 26‑27; the waiting‑list outcomes will be published on September 1. In the state of Bahia, 34,155 scholarships are offered, with the highest numbers in Administration, Accounting, Systems Development, Information Technology Management and Criminology.

Students who were not selected in either call may still compete for financing through the Fundo de Financiamento Estudantil (Fies) by applying no later than July 17, allowing partial‑scholarship holders to finance the remaining tuition portion.
