Brazil's Pé‑de‑Meia program releases fourth student payment

The federal Pé‑de‑Meia (Mid‑Term Savings) program paid its fourth installment of the attendance incentive to public‑school students. On 2 July 2026, students born in July and August received R$ 200 each, provided they recorded at least 80 % attendance in April. The payment schedule continues through 6 July 2026 for students born in November and December, with earlier dates for other birth‑month groups.

Eligibility requires enrollment in public secondary education (regular or Youth‑Adult Education), registration in the CadÚnico social‑benefit database, family income of up to half a minimum wage per person, and the required attendance threshold. The Ministry of Education estimates the programme now covers roughly 7.2 million students nationwide and has helped cut high‑school dropout rates from 6.4 % to 3.6 % in recent years. Over the course of a student’s schooling, total benefits can reach up to R$ 9.2 thousand, combining monthly incentives, annual deposits, and an ENEM participation bonus.
