Brazil launches July 2026 Bolsa Família payments to millions
On July 27 2026 Caixa Econômica Federal began the scheduled Bolsa Família disbursement for beneficiaries whose NIS ends in 6, with the NIS‑7 batch paid on July 28. The monthly payment calendar runs from July 20 through July 31, assigning each final NIS digit a specific day. Approximately 19.3 million families—about 49 million people—receive the programme, with the federal outlay totaling roughly R$ 12.7 billion. The average July benefit is R$ 679.19, the minimum amount is R$ 600 per family, and extra components include a Nutritional Family Variable Benefit of six R$ 50 installments for mothers with infants up to six months, a R$ 50 supplement for pregnant women and children aged 7‑18, and a R$ 150 supplement for children up to six years. Unified payments were applied in 175 municipalities across Amazonas (3), Paraíba (31), Paraná (8), Rio Grande do Norte (120), Roraima (6) and Sergipe (7) that were in emergency or calamity status. The protection rule, in force since June 2023, lets families whose members gain employment receive 50 % of the benefit for up to two years if they entered the rule before May 2025; new entrants receive the reduced one‑year term. Since 2024 the programme no longer deducts the Seguro Defeso, following Law 14.601/2023. Beneficiaries can verify payment dates and details via the Caixa Tem app.
