Prouni deadline forces students to submit scholarship documents by July 24

Candidates pre‑selected in the first round of Brazil’s Programa Universidade para Todos (Prouni) for the second semester of 2026 must deliver the required documentation to their private higher‑education institutions by Friday 24 July. Documentation may be submitted in person or electronically, according to each institution’s guidelines, and the institution must provide a receipt. Failure to meet the deadline results in the candidate’s exclusion from the selection.

The program offers 471,304 scholarships across 380 courses at 879 private institutions, including 219,725 full‑tuition (100 %) scholarships and 251,579 partial (50 %) scholarships. Under affirmative‑action quotas, 35,365 places are reserved for people with disabilities and 188,880 for self‑declared Indigenous, Black or Pardo candidates; the remaining 247,059 are open to the general pool. Candidates not selected in the first call can apply in the second call (5‑14 August) or join a waiting list, with further verification periods in late August and September. Recipients of partial scholarships may also use the Fundo de Financiamento Estudantil (FIES) to cover remaining fees.
