Brazil's Receita Federal launches border auction and probes tipped recycling truck in Dionísio Cerqueira

The Receita Federal will open an electronic auction for seized goods between 20 and 27 July 2026. Lots 79‑92, stored at the Alfândega de Dionísio Cerqueira in Santa Catarina, contain vehicles, electric motorcycles, forklifts, equipment, electric scooters and scrap metal. Bidders must use a Gov.br account with silver or gold reliability, submit proposals online, and are required to collect the entire lot in one operation, using personal protective equipment and bearing all transport costs.

On 5 July, a truck carrying recyclable material overturned on a marginal stretch of BR‑163 in Barracão, Paraná, after the driver attempted to flee a border police stop by the Grupo Especial de Polícia de Fronteira. The driver escaped, leaving the load scattered on the road. The Receita Federal office in Dionísio Cerqueira was notified and will oversee the recovery of the cargo and the seizure of the vehicle, which was also found to contain approximately 2.5 tonnes of concealed marijuana.
