Brazil's Receita Federal notifies football clubs of tax debts

The Brazilian federal tax authority (Receita Federal) has sent formal notices to association football clubs and Football Corporate Societies (SAFs) that show tax arrears identified during fiscal analyses. The communications detail outstanding liabilities, including unpaid withheld taxes that could be treated as misappropriation, and urge entities to regularise voluntarily to avoid administrative sanctions. Maintaining fiscal regularity is required for issuing certificates, securing credit, and concluding contracts with public and private parties. Clubs can review their tax status through the Receita Federal’s digital services and arrange payment or installment plans as instructed.
