Brazil's Receita Federal opens second 2026 tax refund consultation

The Receita Federal will open the consultation for the second batch of the 2026 individual income‑tax (IRPF) refunds on Tuesday, 23 June. Taxpayers can verify eligibility through the agency’s website or the Meu Imposto de Renda app. The payment for those approved in this batch is scheduled for 30 June.

The agency expects the second batch to be similar in size to the first, covering about 8.7 million taxpayers and amounting to roughly R$ 16 billion. Refunds are released in four installments (first on 29 May, second on 30 June, third on 31 July and fourth on 28 August). Priority groups include seniors (80 years or older), seniors 60‑79, people with disabilities or serious illness, teachers, and those who used pre‑filled returns and opted for PIX payments.

To consult, users must log in to the gov.br portal with their CPF, navigate to the “Imposto de Renda” section and select “Consultar minha restituição”. Refunds are deposited directly into the bank account or PIX key provided in the original declaration.
