Brazil's Receita Federal updates ECF and EFD-Contribuições programs

The Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (Receita Federal) has released updates to two major digital bookkeeping programs within the Sped system.

Version 12.2.4 of the Tax Accounting Bookkeeping (ECF) program has been published. This update includes a specific correction in Block J intended for entities within the Financial System. This version is required for transmissions related to the 2025 calendar year and special situations occurring in 2026 under layout 12.

Additionally, version 6.2.0 of the EFD-Contribuições Generating Program (PGE) is now available. A primary feature of this update is the adaptation of bookkeeping fields to accommodate the new alphanumeric CNPJ format. The update also includes performance optimizations and a new validation for field 02 (INC_MOB) of Register 1800. While version 6.1.2 will remain available until September 30, 2026, authorities recommend migrating to the new version to ensure technical compatibility.
