Brazil's Ministry of Education opens Sisu+ vacancy lookup for 2026 second‑semester enrollment

The Ministry of Education (MEC) has made the list of vacant seats for the new Sisu+ stage of the Unified Selection System available online. The portal – the Unified Access to Higher Education platform – lets prospective students view courses, institutions, municipalities, turn‑times and the specific admission modalities for the 34 public universities that signed up for the program.

Eligibility is limited to candidates who have taken the ENEM at least once in the past three years and who participated in the regular Sisu 2026 round. Applicants may select up to two preferred courses during the registration window of 15 – 19 June 2026. The system will automatically use the ENEM edition that yields the highest weighted average for each course. Results of the regular call are scheduled for 24 June, with a waiting‑list expression of interest period from 24 – 26 June and matriculation starting 25 June for those selected and 1 July for the wait‑list.

Sisu+ aims to fill seats that remain vacant after the main selection round, streamline the waiting‑list process, and reduce administrative costs for universities that otherwise run separate vestibular exams. By centralising vacant‑seat information, the programme seeks to broaden access to higher‑education opportunities in Brazil.
