Brazil's sitting volleyball squads reach knockout stage at World Championships

Brazil’s men’s and women’s sitting‑volleyball teams advanced to the round of 16 at the World Championships in Hangzhou, China. Both squads entered the knockout phase unbeaten after group‑stage sweeps.

The men will face Japan at 02:30 Brazil time, having topped Group C with three straight 3‑0 victories, including a 25‑20, 25‑21, 25‑14 win over Croatia. Japan finished last in Group D without a win. The women, defending champions, play Hungary at 03:00, after a flawless 3‑0 group performance that saw them defeat France 25‑12, 25‑9, 25‑5 and finish first in Group D.

Overall, 16 nations compete in each gender category, with all advancing to the knockout round but group rankings determining match‑ups.
