Brazil's solar sector drives surge in inverter repair services
Solar power continued its rapid expansion in Brazil in 2025, adding 10.6 GW of new capacity and bringing total operational power to 64 GW, or roughly 24.5 % of the national electricity mix. The growth, highlighted by the Brazilian Solar Photovoltaic Association (Absolar), generated over R$ 32.9 billion in investments and created about 319,800 green jobs.
The expanding fleet of residential, commercial and small‑to‑medium solar plants has increased demand for specialized inverter maintenance. Bruno Bueno, founder and CEO of Ozora Soluções, notes that repairing an inverter is typically cost‑effective when the repair expense is 20 %–40 % of a new unit’s price. He cites Deye as a leading hybrid inverter provider that popularised battery‑compatible models at competitive prices. Common failures include electrical surges, overheating, component wear (relays, MOSFETs, IGBTs, capacitors), grid voltage fluctuations, and loss of Wi‑Fi or RS485/CAN communications.
Ozora’s laboratory employs industrial‑grade tools such as digital oscilloscopes, thermographic cameras, rework stations and solar‑array simulators to diagnose and fix faults. Repair work can shorten downtime compared with full replacements and supports a circular‑economy approach by extending inverter lifespans and reducing electronic waste.
