TSE Justice orders PT federation to submit documents on congress and digital project
André Mendonça, a justice of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), has ordered the Federação Brasil da Esperança (comprising PT, PCdoB, and PV) to present financial documents and recordings related to the PT's 8th National Congress and the "Porta-Vozes de Lula" project.
The ruling follows a complaint by the Liberal Party (PL), which alleges the irregular use of Party Funds to coordinate digital attacks against Senator Flávio Bolsonaro. The PL claims the 8th Congress utilized audiovisual content to associate the senator with corruption and criminal activity. Additionally, the "Porta-Vozes de Lula" project allegedly used "gamification"—involving missions and rankings—to mobilize digital militancy.
Justice Mendonça stated that while coordinated mobilization and digital gamification are not inherently illegal, the TSE prohibits any "remuneration, economic advantage, or equivalent mechanism of retribution" in exchange for political posts. The decision mandates the preservation of all contracts, receipts, databases, and messages to ensure evidence is available for the ongoing investigation into potential misuse of public funds and electoral disinformation.
