Brazil's TSE promotes Pardal app for reporting electoral irregularities
The Brazilian Superior Electoral Court (TSE) is encouraging citizens to participate in monitoring the electoral process by reporting irregularities. A primary tool for this purpose is the Pardal application, which allows voters to report issues such as vote buying, misuse of public resources, electoral crimes, and irregular propaganda.
Citizens can submit reports through the app, which is available on Google Play and the App Store, or directly to police authorities, the Electoral Public Ministry (MPE), or electoral courts. The legislation allows for the communication of any facts that may compromise voting freedom or equality between candidates.
Additionally, voters can challenge the identity of individuals attempting to vote on election day and report cases of candidate ineligibility through formal requests to the competent electoral court. The TSE also noted the commencement of electoral propaganda on radio and television, with specific broadcast windows established for both media formats.
