Bahia audit courts submit list of 602 managers with rejected accounts

The State Court of Accounts of Bahia (TCE-BA) and the Municipal Court of Accounts (TCM-BA) have submitted lists to the Regional Electoral Court of Bahia (TRE-BA) containing details on 602 public managers whose accounts were rejected over the last eight years. This information is intended to assist the Electoral Justice system in analyzing candidate registrations for upcoming elections, as rejected accounts can lead to ineligibility.

The TCE-BA reported 743 entries related to the 602 managers, noting that a single individual may appear multiple times due to different unfavorable decisions. Meanwhile, the TCM-BA provided five lists covering 680 processes, including 397 rejected annual accounts for municipalities and various irregularities involving municipal chambers and decentralized entities. These findings have also been forwarded to the Public Ministry of Bahia for potential investigation into crimes against public administration.

TRE-BA President Maurício Kertzman Szporer noted that the documentation is essential for the Electoral Public Ministry and political parties to verify potential challenges to candidacies. He also highlighted the need for increased oversight regarding the use of artificial intelligence in electoral propaganda to prevent the manipulation of reality.
