Alentejo hosts major tourism and enotourism business events

The Alentejo region in Portugal is hosting significant tourism and enotourism events aimed at strengthening international business ties. The BRAZTOA (Brazilian Association of Tourism Operators) convention is bringing approximately 76 participants, including tour operators and journalists, to Elvas and Beja from October 19 to 23. The program includes working sessions with the European Tourism Association (ETOA), Turismo de Portugal, and the Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (APAVT), alongside visits to historical sites and local wineries.

Additionally, Wine Destination Portugal is organizing its third edition from November 16 to 20 in Beja and Évora. This event aims to connect roughly 30 national producers with 30 international buyers from markets including the United States, Brazil, Canada, and various European nations. The initiative seeks to capitalize on Portugal’s enotourism market, which has an estimated annual economic potential of 160 million euros, with a significant portion driven by direct wine sales and extended visitor stays.
