Bread Heritage Exhibition Opens in Chișinău Museum
The "Miros de pâine caldă. Pâinea în Epoca Fierului" exhibition, which explores millennial bread traditions, has opened at the National Museum of History of Moldova in Chișinău. It combines artifacts from the Zalău County Museum in Romania with pieces from the Moldovan museum, showcasing tools for grain cultivation, ancient ovens, grinding stones and other items that illustrate the evolution of bread making.
Museum staff recreated scenes of traditional bread preparation. Livia Ermurache, deputy director of the museum, said the display highlights the deep cultural ties between the two banks of the Nistru River. Researcher Mariana Sîrbu noted that the exhibition traces the shift from bread as a basic necessity to a spiritual symbol. The exhibition will be on view until 4 September.
