Breast cancer awareness initiatives launched in Canada and France

Various initiatives are underway to support breast cancer patients and fund research. In Quebec, actress and author Anick Lemay has been named the provincial ambassador for the 35th edition of the Canadian Cancer Society’s CIBC Race for Life. The fundraising event is scheduled for October 4 in Montreal, Sherbrooke, and Val-d’Or, aiming to support research, essential support services, and public health policies.

In France, the association SOS Cancer du Sein is organizing the ‘Régate Rose’ in Ajaccio. On August 24, twenty-two women affected by breast cancer will participate in a sailing event as part of the Corsica Classic. The nautical activity, which travels from the Charles Ornano marina to Portigliolo, is designed to provide participants with a sense of empowerment and a temporary reprieve from the daily challenges of the disease.
