Brendon McCullum warns England players following Brydon Carse arrest

England head coach Brendon McCullum has issued a stern warning regarding player conduct following the arrest of fast bowler Brydon Carse. The incident, involving suspicions of being drunk and disorderly outside a nightclub in Derby, has prompted an ongoing assault investigation by Derbyshire Police.

While the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed Carse remains available for selection, McCullum emphasized that players must meet high standards of responsibility both on and off the field. He noted that the fast-paced nature of international cricket requires disciplined lifestyle decisions, warning that talent alone is insufficient if players are unprepared to meet these expectations.

This crackdown on behavior coincides with McCullum launching a joint coaching role with Stephen Fleming for the white-ball side. The move aims to mirror the disciplinary standards set by the Test team. Former England captain Kevin Pietersen has also joined the backroom staff in a mentoring capacity to reinforce these expectations.
