Brydon Carse disciplinary investigation

England fast bowler Brydon Carse was removed from the England squad for the second Test against Pakistan at Lord’s following an incident in Derby. Video footage showed Carse in handcuffs outside a nightclub while celebrating a County Championship victory with Durham teammates.

Joe Root noted that Carse is ‘very upset, very apologetic and understands his actions.’

Following the incident, Carse was omitted from the squad for the third Test against Pakistan at Edgbaston, with Sonny Baker retained in the 15-man squad to replace him. The disciplinary fallout has continued, as the ECB has now excluded Carse from the upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka. The ECB confirmed the Durham seamer will not be considered for selection while the Cricket Regulator investigation is ongoing, stating the omission is intended to allow the player to ‘work through the issues’ and ‘take time for a proper reset’ without prejudging the investigation's outcome.
