The B.C. Conservative Party is experiencing significant internal instability, marked by a wave of defections from its caucus. Since August 14, 2026, six MLAs have left the party, reducing the caucus from 44 members to 31.

Abbotsford South MLA Bruce Banman announced his departure on August 27, stating that under the leadership of Kerry-Lynne Findlay, the party's ability to defeat the NDP is diminishing. Similarly, Courtenay-Comox MLA Brennan Day resigned on August 26, citing a loss of confidence in Findlay’s ethical standards and judgment.

Other defectors include Teresa Wat, Rosalyn Bird, Ian Paton, and Peter Milobar. While some, like Banman and Day, intend to sit as Independents, Paton and Milobar have expressed intentions to form a new political party. The instability extends to the party's leadership, with nearly the entire executive, including president Aisha Estey and executive director Angelo Isidorou, having resigned within the last month.
