BRI Group sees foreign‑currency deposit rise and backs Jakarta UMKM Fun Run

PT BRI Life, the insurance subsidiary of Bank Rakyat Indonesia, took part in the UMKM Fun Run 5K held in Jakarta on 21 June 2026. The event was presented as a way to promote a healthy lifestyle, strengthen the national UMKM ecosystem and raise financial‑literacy awareness, with BRI Life showcasing digital insurance products such as MODI, Pijar, Aurora Plus and Arunika.

Bank Rakyat Indonesia reported that its foreign‑currency third‑party deposits (DPK valas) grew 9.82 % year‑on‑year through May 2026, while rupiah‑denominated deposits rose 8.38 %. The bank said the modest share of foreign deposits reflects its focus on micro‑credit in rupiah and that the growth is driven by funding needs for loan disbursement rather than speculative currency‑saving behaviour.
