BRI Insurance and PNM plant 7,000 mangrove seedlings in Makassar

On 26 May 2026, PT BRI Asuransi Indonesia and PT Permodalan Nasional Madani jointly planted 7,000 mangrove seedlings in the Untia sub‑district of Makassar, Indonesia. The "Green Impact" activity was part of the companies' Tanggung Jawab Sosial dan Lingkungan (TJSL) programme and aimed to protect the coastal ecosystem, curb erosion and sequester carbon.

The ceremony was attended by BRI Insurance branch manager Asniar Asnawi, PNM branch deputy leader Sugiarto, Makassar’s environmental department head Helmy Budiman and local community leaders. BRI Insurance CEO Budi Legowo stressed that sustainable growth must be balanced with environmental stewardship. Asnawi said, "Through this mangrove planting, BRI Insurance wants to make a real contribution to preserving the coastal environment and supporting local communities."

The initiative reflects a corporate‑government‑community partnership to enhance coastal resilience and promote long‑term ecological benefits for the region.
