Bank Rakyat Indonesia expands micro‑credit and financing programs

The Ikatan Ahli Ekonomi Islam Indonesia (IAEI) Jakarta Raya held its regional assembly and elected Prof. Dr. M Nur Rianto Al Arif as chair for the 2026‑2031 term, pledging to strengthen the network of Islamic economics scholars across Jakarta.

Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) announced several initiatives to boost small‑business financing: a 0% interest auto‑loan promotion at a West Sumatra automotive exhibition; a policy allowing borrowers with online loans under Rp1 million to remain eligible for the government's Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR); and the latest KUR disbursement figures, reaching Rp84.36 trillion through May 2026, with the agriculture sector receiving the largest share. Cumulatively, BRI has provided Rp1.520 trillion in KUR loans to over 48 million borrowers since 2015.

Through its LinkUMKM platform, BRI also supported UMKM such as Ria Barokah, helping the business expand product lines, obtain halal certification, improve packaging, and adopt QRIS payments, illustrating broader efforts to develop micro‑enterprises.
