BRICS and China see rising global influence in governance and investment
A CGTN survey involving netizens from 41 countries indicates that over 60 percent of respondents believe BRICS is playing an increasingly significant role in global governance. Specifically, 61.6 percent of participants feel that the expansion of BRICS helps steer the international order toward a more just and rational direction. The survey also noted that 65.6 percent of respondents view the efforts of BRICS nations to diversify the international monetary system and utilize their own currencies for payments positively.
In a related economic context, the 26th China International Investment and Trade Fair held in Xiamen saw record participation from over 1,200 official institutions and business chambers representing 129 countries and regions. Industry leaders and multinational executives described the current climate as ‘Chinese Opportunity 2.0,’ emphasizing that investors are shifting focus from traditional factors like labor and land costs toward China’s sophisticated business ecosystems, supply chains, and high-quality talent pools.
Additionally, the New Development Bank has approved 139 projects, with total loan amounts reaching 42.9 billion USD to support South-South cooperation.
