BRICS celebrates 20th anniversary in Moscow as security advisers convene in India
Moscow hosted the opening of BRICS’s 20th‑anniversary week on June 15, featuring panels on literature, economic cooperation, and cultural activities such as a workshop on Indian Madhubani painting. Delegates from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa discussed the bloc’s role in the evolving global order, the New Development Bank and multilateral initiatives for the Global South.
India will host a BRICS National Security Advisers meeting on June 22‑23, chaired by National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. senior security officials, including Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu, will examine non‑traditional security challenges such as emerging technologies, cyber threats and counter‑terrorism, and will lay groundwork for the upcoming BRICS summit later in the year.
