Bridgestone named exclusive tire supplier for Formula E

Bridgestone has been officially named the exclusive tire supplier for Formula E, succeeding Hankook. The agreement, announced in Rome, will span four seasons, lasting until the 2029/2030 period.

The partnership coincides with the introduction of the Gen4 era, featuring faster cars capable of reaching 335 km/h. Bridgestone will develop the Potenza Gen4 tires, designed to handle high performance and varying weather conditions, including a specific ‘Potenza Gen4 for Typhoon’ model for heavy rain.

Sustainability is a central component of the new deal. The tires will be composed of 65% recycled and renewable materials, such as silica from rice husks and carbon black from pyrolysis oil, produced using 100% renewable energy. Additionally, Bridgestone has secured naming rights for four e-Prix events during the 2026/2027 season: Mexico City, Berlin, Shanghai, and Tokyo.
