Bridgestone to become sole Formula E tire supplier
Bridgestone has been named the sole tire supplier for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship starting from the 2026/27 season. The company recently held a world premiere in Rome to unveil the ‘POTENZA GEN4’ tires, specifically developed for the upcoming ‘GEN4’ electric racing machines. These new vehicles are expected to feature all-wheel drive and reach speeds of up to 335 km/h.
The POTENZA GEN4 tires are designed with sustainability in mind, utilizing a 65% ratio of recycled and renewable resources, including carbon black derived from pyrolysis oil of used tires and silica from rice husks. Bridgestone also plans to serve as the title sponsor for four major races: Mexico City, Berlin, Shanghai, and Tokyo.
In separate news, five Bridgestone products have received the 2026 Good Design Award. The recognized items include four passenger car tires—the BLIZZAK WZ-1, FINESSA HB01, ALENZA LX200, and DUELER A/T002 TYPE G—as well as the ANCHOR RE6 road bike from its group company, Bridgestone Cycle Co., Ltd. The awards highlight the company’s focus on integrating design with management strategy and innovation.
