Brindisi and Canepina add new public defibrillators

In Brindisi, a seventh semi‑automatic defibrillator was inaugurated on July 10 in Piazza San Teodoro d’Amasea on the Lungomare Regina Margherita. The device was donated by the volunteer group APS Batti un Colpo and financed through the Consorzio ASI’s contribution to the Torneo dei Rioni 2025. The ceremony was attended by the city’s social services assessor, local association presidents and sponsors. Since the first device was placed in 2017, none have been used or vandalised, underscoring strong civic respect for the equipment.

In the nearby town of Canepina, a new defibrillator was installed at the municipal sports field as part of the “Il Cuore in Campo – Un defibrillatore per la comunità” project. The device was donated by the Associazione Ruben Ciarlanti and funded by the municipality, with support from local sports clubs and the Pro Loco. About one hundred residents have been trained to operate the units. The mayor, the association president and the regional vice‑president attended the ceremony, highlighting the collaborative effort to improve community cardiac safety.
