Brindisi completes first year of Parco del Cillarese regeneration project

The first year of the Residenze Play Brindisi experimentation has concluded in Brindisi, Italy. Part of the National Program Metro Plus e Città Medie Sud 2021–2027, the initiative focuses on urban regeneration, art, and social inclusion through the ‘Brindisi Per’ strategy.

As of October 8, the Parco del Cillarese features three new lightweight architectural installations. These structures are the result of a collective process involving 60 young people aged 18 to 35, who were selected from over 150 applicants. These participants, including locals and individuals from other Italian cities and abroad, worked alongside tutors, curators, and the international studio GRRIZ.

The project integrated territory exploration, collaborative design, and self-construction. Artist Geometric Bang contributed to the visual and artistic components of the residency, which aimed to transform the public space through youth engagement and social activation.
