Italian theatre initiatives launch new seasons and companies
Various cultural and theatrical initiatives are being launched across Italy. In Brindisi, Antonio Basile has founded Palcoerealtà, a new theatre company dedicated to preserving and promoting local linguistic traditions through Brindisi vernacular comedies.
In Novellara, the Teatro Comunale Franco Tagliavini has announced its 2026-2027 season, titled ‘Quasi in equilibrio, nonostante tutto’. The program, developed in partnership with ATER Fondazione, includes contemporary theatre, music, dance, and educational projects for schools and families.
Other regional highlights include the ‘Ci vediamo al Cadorna’ festival in Pallanza, featuring the award-winning play ‘Niente progetti per il futuro’, and the performance of ‘Sos Sinnos’ in Olbia, which explores Sardinian identity through oral tradition and literature. Additionally, the archaeological park of Scolacium in Borgia hosted a successful national premiere of a reimagined ‘Agamemnon’ by Fabrizio Sinisi.
