Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan leads AFL transformation
Coach Chris Fagan has overseen a significant transformation for the Brisbane Lions, turning the club from a struggling side with low attendance at the Gabba into an AFL powerhouse.
The Lions have achieved eight consecutive September campaigns and secured consecutive premierships following three straight grand final appearances. This success follows a period where the club reached the September stage only once between 2005 and 2019.
Fagan attributes the club's success to careful planning, including a succession strategy and the use of homegrown talent. While academy processes have supported the club, only 10 of the current 44-man squad are academy graduates.
