Bristol Motor Speedway weather cancels NASCAR qualifying

Inclement weather, including rain and lightning, forced the cancellation of qualifying and practice for several NASCAR series at Bristol Motor Speedway.

In the NASCAR Cup Series, the starting lineup for the Bass Pro Shops Night Race will be determined by the official rulebook metric. This places Kyle Larson on the pole, followed by Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin. The metric-based lineup has drawn mixed reactions; 2023 champion Ryan Blaney noted that while he would prefer a top-10 start, the system is a consistent part of the sport.

In the ARCA Menards Series, Carson Brown secured a victory in the Bush’s Beans 200, leading every lap. Meanwhile, in the NASCAR Truck Series, Jake Garcia won the UNOH 250. The race saw significant tension after a crash involving Layne Riggs and Nick Leitz, with Riggs criticizing Leitz’s performance following the incident.

In the NASCAR O’Reilly Series, Justin Allgaier won Stage 1 of the Food City 300, which faced potential delays due to the ongoing weather conditions.
