Racing at Bristol Motor Speedway: ARCA, Truck, and Cup

Bristol Motor Speedway hosted a multi-series racing weekend featuring the NASCAR Cup Series, ARCA Menards Series, and NASCAR Truck Series.

In the ARCA Menards Series Bush’s Best 200, Carson Brown secured a victory by leading every lap. This win narrowed the gap in the owner point standings to 11 points between the Pinnacle Racing Group No. 28 team and the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18 team. Additionally, Tristan McKee clinched the 2026 ARCA Menards East championship following a runner-up finish.

Weather disruptions, including rain and lightning, impacted several series. In the NASCAR Cup Series, qualifying for the Bass Pro Shops Night Race was cancelled, with the starting lineup determined by the official rulebook metric. This placed Kyle Larson on the pole, followed by Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin. Regarding the metric-based lineup, 2023 champion Ryan Blaney noted that while he would prefer a top-10 start, the system is a “consistent part of the sport.”

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series UNOH 250 saw Jake Garcia earn the win. The event was marked by instability among championship contenders, as none of the drivers in ‘The Chase’ finished in the top five. Post-race tension arose following a crash involving Layne Riggs and Nick Leitz, with Riggs criticizing Leitz’s performance. Earlier in the weekend, the Truck Series qualifying session was also cancelled due to lightning, resulting in Layne Riggs being placed on the pole via the NASCAR qualifying metric.

In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Justin Allgaier won Stage 1 of the Food City 300, which faced potential delays due to ongoing weather conditions.
