British Airways updates loyalty program and Avios flight offerings

British Airways is implementing several changes to its loyalty program and reward offerings. Starting April 1, 2027, the airline will increase the Tier Point requirements for Silver and Gold elite status within The British Airways Club. Silver status will require 8,000 Tier Points, up from 7,500, while Gold status will require 21,000 Tier Points, up from 20,000. The Bronze status requirement remains unchanged at 3,500 Tier Points.

In a separate initiative, the airline has announced a series of Avios-only flights scheduled for August 2027. These flights will operate on routes between London Heathrow and Palma de Mallorca, as well as a new route between London Heathrow and Heraklion, Crete. These services are exclusive to British Airways Club members.

Additionally, British Airways Holidays will adjust its Avios earning structure starting November 24. The airline will award six Avios per pound spent on holiday packages, shared among the traveling group. However, spending on BA Holidays Premium Plus cards will see a reduction in Avios generation, dropping from 3 to 1.25 Avios per pound.
