British and Irish family missing in Nepal floods

A British-Irish family remains missing in Nepal a week after devastating flash floods struck the Himalayan region. The family, including Santosh Sahu, Surabhi Padhy, and their children Spandan and Syna, were traveling with a tour group when their communications went offline after crossing the border into Nepal.

Family members and friends are seeking assistance from British and Irish authorities to coordinate with Nepalese officials. There are concerns that the family may have been inside an immigration building that was destroyed during the disaster. As authorities in the Chitwan district begin burying unidentified remains due to health risks and deteriorating conditions, relatives are working to provide DNA samples to aid in the identification process.

The floods have resulted in hundreds of confirmed deaths and left thousands of people missing across the region.
