British Girl Dies After Drowning in Lanzarote Hotel Pool

A four‑year‑old British girl died on Saturday after being rescued from a hotel pool in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. Emergency services were alerted at 13:30 by the hotel staff. A nurse coordinating the 112 call confirmed the child was in cardiac arrest and guided a lifeguard through basic CPR. Advanced life‑support teams, including two ambulances and a medical helicopter, arrived and continued resuscitation, but the girl could not be revived.

The local Consorcio de Seguridad, Emergencias, Salvamento, Prevención y Extinción de Incendios and police secured the area to allow the helicopter to land and take off safely. The Guardia Civil opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident. The tragedy follows two other drownings reported in Spain on the same day.
