British Council and Santander Offer 10,000 Free Online English Courses Across 12 Countries

The British Council runs two completely free online platforms—LearnEnglish for adults and LearnEnglish Teens for younger learners—covering the CEFR levels from A1 to C1 with resources for listening, reading, writing, grammar and speaking.

In partnership with Banco Santander, the Council has opened a second round of the Santander | British Council English Online programme, providing more than 10,000 fully funded spots for adults aged 18 + in Portugal, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the United States, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay. Applicants can enroll until 25 August via the Santander Open Academy platform, and the eight‑week course is designed for learners at any level from A1 to C1, combining self‑study with specialist support.
