British Isles heatwave forecast predicts temperatures up to 30 °C in late June

The UK Met Office says Birmingham could see a rise in temperatures toward 30 °C between June 18 and June 27, with higher humidity and a chance of thunderstorms as a high‑pressure ridge builds.

In Ireland, Met Éireann’s long‑range outlook signals above‑average warmth through July to September, and recent model runs from ECMWF and GFS indicate a possible surge to 30 °C around June 25. The forecast follows May’s record‑breaking 30.5 °C reading at Shannon and comes amid generally mild conditions expected for early June.

Both agencies caution that the predictions carry uncertainty, but the convergence of model guidance has sparked optimism for a late‑June heatwave across the British Isles.
