Brčko District Mayor Declares July 4 and 11 as Days of Mourning for Srebrenica and Srednje Podrinje

Mayor Siniša Milić of the Brčko District in Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a decision declaring July 4 and July 11 as official days of mourning. July 4 marks the anniversary of the suffering in Srednje Podrinje and Birč, while July 11 commemorates the victims of the Srebrenica massacre.

Milić noted that the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not reach a consensus on the matter, and emphasized that the decision respects the district's multi‑ethnic character and legal framework. He described the days of mourning as a “deepest expression of respect” for all war victims and called on citizens to show dignity, respect, and solidarity with the victims’ families. Local media outlets were instructed to adjust programming in accordance with the mourning days.
