Brod marks liberation anniversary amid calls for war crime accountability
Commemorations are scheduled in Brod to mark the 34th anniversary of the city's liberation during the Defense and Homeland War. Marko Grabovac, president of the Organization for Searching Missing Fighters and Civilians from Brod, has called for accountability regarding crimes committed against the Serbian population during the conflict, noting that despite documentation provided to judicial institutions, no one has been held responsible for crimes in the former Bosanski Brod municipality.
Other scheduled events in the region include a memorial service for former Republika Srpska President Biljana Plavšić in Banja Luka and the opening of an exhibition regarding the Zemun reception camp in Donja Gradina.
In Sarajevo, the Council of Ministers is set to discuss a draft agreement between the Ministry of Civil Affairs and NASA regarding cooperation in the ‘GLOB’ program. Additionally, the ‘Rise 2026’ international conference on the political and economic empowerment of women is scheduled to take place in Belgrade.
