Commemorations of Derventa and Brod liberation

Overview

In late September, veterans gathered in the Zborište settlement near the Derventa and Brod border to commemorate the 34th anniversary of the liberation of Derventa and the start of the battle for Brod. The event honored fallen soldiers and highlighted the strategic military history of the Obodni canal.

By early October, commemorations continued in Brod for the anniversary of the city’s liberation during the Defense and Homeland War. During these events, local organizers called for accountability regarding crimes committed against the Serbian population, stating that despite documentation being provided to judicial institutions, no one has been held responsible for crimes in the former Bosanski Brod municipality.
