Split police seize large quantities of drug precursors and explosive materials
Police in Split, Croatia, have arrested a 36-year-old man following a major investigation into the illegal production and sale of drugs. Authorities seized 205 kilograms of BMK precursor, used for manufacturing amphetamines and methamphetamines, along with 960 kilograms of white powder used as a filler. The investigation also uncovered large quantities of chemicals and equipment suitable for producing explosives.
In Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, authorities are addressing rising safety concerns regarding electric scooters. Data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs shows 56 incidents involving electric scooters in 2025, including 42 traffic accidents and one fatality. In response, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton has proposed legislative amendments to better regulate scooter use, including stricter driving conditions and movement rules.
In Croatia, the Brod-Posavina Police Administration conducted a preventive operation targeting personal transport vehicles and electric scooters. The action resulted in nine traffic violations and the seizure of three high-powered electric scooters that exceeded legal technical limits, such as motor power and speed constraints.
