Brookfield Asset Management Raises Record $77 B in Q2, Boosts Fundraising and Earnings
Brookfield Asset Management reported a record $77 billion of new capital in the second quarter of 2026, pushing its assets under management past $1 trillion. Year‑to‑date fundraising reached $98 billion, and the firm deployed $21 billion of capital during the quarter. Flagship funds attracted major inflows, with a seventh private‑equity fund raising $6.7 billion and a sixth infrastructure fund pulling in $9.3 billion, each on track to become the largest of their vintages. The company secured $5 billion in commitments for its first AI Infrastructure Fund and expanded its financing framework with Bloom Energy to $25 billion for AI‑related power projects. Brookfield also completed the purchase of the remaining 26 % stake in Oaktree for about $3 billion to strengthen its credit business. Financial results showed fee‑related earnings of $808 million (up 20 % YoY), distributable earnings of $707 million (up 15 % YoY) and net income of $1.17 billion, nearly double the prior year. A new $40 billion Just Group mandate added significant insurance‑related fee revenue.
