Brooklyn Nets host community festival ahead of new season

The Brooklyn Nets held ‘Nets Fest’ at the Major Owens Community Center in Crown Heights to celebrate franchise history and engage with fans ahead of the 2026-27 season. The event featured basketball clinics, games, and Q&A sessions with current players such as Egor Dëmin and rookie Mikel Brown Jr., as well as franchise legends including Kenyon Martin, Buck Williams, and Albert King.

Following several seasons of low standings in the Eastern Conference, the franchise enters the new campaign with an opportunity to improve its competitive standing. While the team has recently struggled near the bottom of the league, recent roster moves and internal development have positioned them as potential contenders for a postseason or play-in bid. The Nets are scheduled to begin their preseason against the Charlotte Hornets on October 6, with their first regular-season home game at Barclays Center set for October 21.
