Brunello Cucinelli holds fashion show at historic Tashkent madrasah
Italian fashion house Brunello Cucinelli presented its Fall-Winter 2026 men’s and women’s collections at the historic Abulkasim Madrasah in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The 19th-century Islamic educational institution served as a unique runway, with models walking across handmade carpets laid throughout the courtyard to the accompaniment of local music and performances.
The choice of venue was intended to highlight the connection between the fashion house’s focus on manual craftsmanship and Uzbekistan’s traditional artisanal heritage. The Abulkasim complex currently functions as a protected historical monument and a working craft center, where artisans practice ceramics, wood carving, engraving, and miniature painting.
Carolina Cucinelli, Vice President and Co-Creative Director, noted the parallels between the local crafts and the company’s base in Solomeo, Italy. She highlighted the similarities in the importance of pottery, jewelry, and textile work found within the region.
