Brunello di Montalcino Eredi Fuligni named wine of the year

The 2021 Eredi Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino has been named the wine of the year in James Suckling’s ‘Top 100 Wines of Italy 2026’ list. The ranking, compiled from approximately 7,000 Italian wines, recognizes quality, price, market availability, and regional authenticity.

Brunello di Montalcino holds a significant presence in the rankings, with 12 different labels from the 2021 vintage included. Other notable entries include San Filippo’s Brunello di Montalcino Le Lucere 2021, which placed second, and Giodo’s Brunello di Montalcino 2021, which placed seventh.

Giacomo Bartolommei, president of the Consorzio del vino Brunello di Montalcino, stated that the result honors the work of the local producers and highlights the 2021 vintage as one of the best for the denomination in the last twenty years.
