Brydon Carse charged by Cricket Regulator over nightclub incident

England fast bowler Brydon Carse has been charged by the Cricket Regulator for breaching Regulation 3.2 of the ECB Professional Conduct Regulations. The charge relates to an incident in Derby on August 23, where Carse was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly while out with Durham teammates following a County Championship match.

While Derbyshire Police previously investigated an allegation of assault stemming from the same night, that inquiry was closed last month without charges being filed. However, the Cricket Regulator has determined that Carse’s conduct may have brought the game of cricket or the ECB into disrepute.

The matter is being referred to an independent Cricket Discipline Panel for adjudication. The potential sanctions for the breach could range from a formal reprimand to a lengthy suspension. Since the incident, Carse has been omitted from England squads for Test matches and upcoming ODI series.
