BSW launches district council campaign in Harburg County, Germany
The Bündnis Soziale Gerechtigkeit und Wirtschaftliche Vernunft (BSW), which will be renamed "Alliance of Social Justice and Economic Reason" on 1 October, is contesting the Harburg county council election in nine voting districts. The party aims to strengthen social cohesion and support the local economy and agriculture amid a strained municipal budget. Its programme emphasizes increased citizen participation and reliable municipal services, including energy, waste management, water supply, housing, schools and public transport. As a new party, BSW is currently gathering supporting signatures for its candidacy and reports strong local backing. Because there is no five‑percent electoral hurdle, the party believes its chances of entering the district council are good.
