BTS wins three MTV VMAs including Song of the Year

BTS secured three wins at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, taking home trophies for Song of the Year and Best K-pop for their single ‘SWIM’, as well as Best Group. The win for ‘SWIM’ marks the first time a K-pop group has won the Song of the Year category.

With the Best Group award, the septet extended their record to five wins in that category, following previous victories in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. These accolades follow the release of their fifth studio album, ‘ARIRANG’, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.

Member J-Hope expressed his gratitude to the group’s fanbase, known as ARMY, via Weverse. He credited the fans for the wins and noted that 2026 has been a significant year for the group’s reunion and their return to the music scene.
